Through our proven security strategies, CFT Security has forged a reputation as a highly qualified and professional security firm and workplace safety division. Our History
The company was founded in Queensland in 2002 by Jim Cusack who is still the current owner operator. Jim has lived in the Mackay region for most of his life and has more than 20 years experience in the security industry.
This gives him not only a full understanding of local communities but also the ability to work closely with local policing agencies.
Our Staff
Currently CFT Security employs over 80 full time and casual staff. These include numerous Licensed Armed Guards and fully qualified Alcohol and Drug testing officers. Additionally, CFT Security offers GPS (Global Positioning System) equipped vehicles that are on the road 24/7. Our patrol vehicles operate continuously within their defined geographical boundaries to give you fast response times compared to the industry average of 45 minutes.

Our People
All CFT Security staff undergo a thorough screening and interview process. We employ our people based not only on their professional background but on their general demeanour, appearance, motivation, trustworthiness and willingness to undergo additional training.
As a vital element in the security industry, continuous training is a priority for our company and our future growth. Training courses include, but are not limited to: Conflict Through Negotiation, Control Persons Through Empty Hand Techniques, Advanced First Aid, RSA, Drug and Alcohol, Aviation and Maritime training and Security Operations Certificates at levels I, II, III, IV and Diploma.
Our on-site staff view themselves as Customer Service / Security Officers, as opposed to traditional security guards. All officers wear distinctive uniforms and drive high profile company owned vehicles.
When on duty or in uniform, officers are courteous and conduct themselves in a professional and dignified manner. On request, our officers can produce their current Security Licence and Identification, which they carry with them at all times.
